Our Vision as at East Bend is to be a community of believers that are centered on Christ's life changing love. We want to exhibit that love by:
Calling people into a relationship with Christ and His Church
Walking with each other as we mature in our faith
Ministering to the needs of our congregation, surrounding community and the world
And in all of this we want to magnify God's Holy Name!
SIMP - Southern Illinois Partnership - we invite people to participtate on the 2 and 4 Saturdays as we travel to Mt. Vernon, IL to work with children in the "South Town" region at the newly build Crossroads Christian Center.
Fall Harvest Party - On Halloween East Bend seeks to offer an alternative to the traditional trick-or-treat activites by having a Harvest Party. We invite all the children from the surrounding communities to come and enjoy games, a bounce house, hay rack ride, and pop-corn cooked over the fire.
Spring Fling - similiar to the Harvest Party, only in the spring. This a great opportunity to get out and begin enjoying the wonderful spring weather! We have the camp fire going, games, bounce house and other activites to share with the children.
Vacation Bible School - East Bend works in conjunction with neighboring Dewey Evangelical Mennonite Church to offer the children of our community a one week morning Vacation Bible School. We average about 110 kids each day, teaching them the Truth and Love that can be found in God's Word!
Fair Carnival Worker - Fisher still has a wonderful Community Fair each Summer. For the past several years we have worked in conjunction with the other area churches to feed the Carnival woorkers a BBQ meal, complete with all the fixins, when they arrive in town. We then spend time visiting with them and encouraging them in the Word. We have also started offering morning devotionals for them through the week that they are here.
